Natural Wines

Since 2012, La Ginestra has created wines that showcase the very best charactersistics of the grape and our unique terroir. Our philosophy in the vineyard and the cellar is that of low and gentle intervention. 


In the vineyard we work with natural and green fertilizers such as manure from our beloved pigs and cows, as well as and low doses of copper. By carrying out regular biodynamic treatments we can increase the diverse micro-organism content in the soil, creating the ideal conditions for the vines to defend themselves against diseases and pests naturally. Within the vineyard, wild grasses, herbs, flowers, and trees thrive, creating a balanced syngery of biodiversity between vine and wild fauna. 


At La Ginestra our goal is to make natural wines that are clean, delicious and crushable, the way they should be! 'Natural' should never be an excuse for wild funk and fault.


Here we have many grape varietals planted, the star being Sangiovese of course.  But in addition we also grow a mix of traditional tuscan varietals like Canaiolo Nero, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Vermentino, and Vernaccia, as well as international varietals like Merlot and Cabernet Franc. 


We are proud to offer a variety of wines from more traditional Chianti  and Reserva style wines, to exciting and adventurous wines that utilize amphora clay in the aging process, as well as extended skin contact white wines, and a Pet Nat made of 100% Sangiovese (lovingly called Jun).
